Sailor Mars, aka Rei Hino is the warrior and Princess of the planet Mars. Her fiery temper and personality perfectly mirror her powers, as she is the master flames and fire.

Rei is a shinto priestess as the Hikawa Temple in the Juuban district, and as a result has other special abilities besides her Senshi powers. One of these is being able to read the future by fire and locate others. Another is being able to banish evil spirits by means of ofuda (anti evil scrolls), which later forms part of her attacks as well.

She attends an all-girls school and although is very popular there, she was once avoided by a lot of people for being 'that weird psychic girl'. She is also a very talented singer and songwriter, and almost single handedly created an entire show herself!

Although it seems that she doesn't get along with Usagi due to their constant bickering, if anything it is a sign of their closeness, and they secretly respect each other a lot. She also dated Mamoru for a short time, much to Usagi's displeasure!

She has an enstranged relationship with her father and her mother died when she was very young. Rei lives with her Grandpa at the Hikawa Shrine and has a secret crush on the helper there, Yuichiro (Chad), who is also in love with Rei.
